Analysis Of Village Problems In Handling Waste In Gampong Peunaga Baro, Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency

Waste is one of the causes of environmental imbalance. If dumped by stacking it will cause odor and gas that is harmful to human health. Based on a preliminary study on 10 people in Peunaga Baroe village where people have less role in handling waste, they just throwing garbage on the roadside that makes garbage scattered and causes odors that makes other people and road users less comfortable. The research objective was to determine the analysis of village problems in handling waste in the Peunaga Baroe village in Meurebo District, West Aceh Regency. This research method uses analytical survey design with a cross sectional survey approach. The population in this study were all family heads of 1,032 families and a sample of 91 respondents, the sampling technique was using random sampling techniques and analyzed by univariate and bivariate using the chi-square test. The results of the study showed a significant relationship between community participation factors (Pvalue = 0.022 <α = 0.05), facilities (Pvalue = 0.024 <α = 0.05), waste management management system (Pvalue = 0.040 <α = 0.05 ), in handling waste. Conclusion there is a significant relationship between community participation factors, facilities, waste management management systems, in handling waste. It was suggested to Gampong Peunaga Baroe to be able to carry out mutual cooperation and socialization to the community to carry out waste management and provide service sanctions so that it can improve community behavior.
